North Carolina Panthers

Picture
The North Carolina Panthers are members of the Southern Division, NFC in the NFL. The team is located in North Carolina (Charlotte) but is frequently called just "Carolina Panthers" as the team is supposed to represent both of the Carolinas. They joined the NFL as an expansion team with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995. Because the two wildcat mascots joined the NFL at the same time-there's been a lot of controversy and rivalry between the two fearsome felines. Sir Purr, however, is regarded as more of a reserved and well-behaved mascot than Jaxson. He also has a family of panther mascots that will sometimes join him at games.
